A product is the top level of organization in an installation project. The installation is further divided into features and components, which are subsets of your product. Although an installation can contain multiple features and components, it can have only one product.
Default product information is provided when you create a new installation project. To view the product properties, click the Product Properties icon in the General Information view (under Description in the View List). These properties contain information such as the product name, the product code (GUID), and the application version.
You must set the product properties with information that is relevant to your application. In addition, you must populate all properties with valid values in order to comply with Windows logo guidelines.
